Its Time for an Update

FirebreatherRelease_poster copyThere is a lot going on at Burial Beer Co. these days. As most of you know, we are a small nano-brewery tucked away on a street just south of downtown Asheville. We make enough beer to quench the thirst of those who stop by our tap room. We participate in an event here and there, but all in all, you can only get our beer at our taproom which is open Thursday and Friday 4-10PM and Saturday 2-8PM.

However, word of mouth seems to be spreading (thank you!) and we have a lot of stuff in the works with upcoming events, beers and local collaborations. Let me enlighten you.

Local Collaborations and Partnerships:

I. Get ready for Firebreather, our collaboration with Hi-Wire Brewing. Brewed on their 30 bbl system, Firebreather is a Barrel-Aged Belgian Strong Ale. We used local honey from Haw Creek and malt from Riverbend Malthouse then aged this complex beer for over three months in Bulliet Rye Bourbon barrels. Our bottle release party is on December 10th at the Thirsty Monk Downtown. Both breweries will have Firebreather on tap in limited amounts and will be selling 750ml bottles (with amazing label artwork) to bottle shops all over WNC as well as out of our taprooms. The perfect gift for a beer lover in your family!

II. Asheville Afterlife Series with Asheville Brewing Co. We are getting ready to release our second beer in the Asheville Afterlife Series- an Imperial French Saison called Espirit Sauvage. Set to release sometime later in December or early January, Espirit Sauvage will be available on tap as well as in 22oz bottles for sale at both our taproom and Asheville Brewing Co. More information will be available about the bottle release party.

III. Vortex Doughnuts- as we get ready to re-release Skillet, you can expect to get free Vortex Doughnuts (while supplies last) next weekend while we serve Skillet – December 5-7th- check our website under the taproom page to find out when we are pouring Skillet that weekend.

IV. Local Artists works for sale through December – stop by Burial, grab a beer and grab a work of art for yourself or as a Christmas gift. We are currently showing works by local artists Zach Briggs and Lauren Rasch. Their pieces range in size and price and there is something for everyone!

Upcoming Special Releases:

As usual, these are only available at our taproom but coming up this weekend we are releasing the next three beers in our Gastronomy Porter Series. We brewed one, easy drinking porter and split it into three kegs. From there we treated it with different foods that match the time of day you eat your three meals.

Morning: Grab and Go Breakfast of a Banana

Noon: Lunch of a simple Peanut Butter Sandwich

Night: Decadent dessert of Coconut and Chocolate

You can also expect Machete Dry Hopped Saison and Bucksaw Double IPA coming soon!


We recently committed to Winter Warmer Festival in January 2014. We plan on brewing some special seasonals for this event so grab your tickets and come try some special beers from Burial!
